    • Add a sites like Evernote or (my favorite) Diigo

      I personally use Diggo, but they are both wonderful research sites that I use to annotate web pages and PDFs, I store screen shots of code, using Diggos outliner I plan projects, pulling in source info found on the web and organizing thoughts. Using various free sources for making color palettes I am able to store screen shots of those for later reference as well as using it for the basis of planning a proposing bids on projects and planning out my wireframes. You can also make groups to work on collaborative projects

      • Site: Trello

        With a really large free option that is more than sufficient for basically everyone, it is a great site for planning out large collaborative projects, since you are able to follow each other assign tasks, make detailed notes, and down to the smallest detail be able to organize, delineate and assign unlimited tasks to multiple members of a group

          • Site: FreeCodeCamp

            A relatively new site, but a wonderful program, self paced, free, with over 1600 hours of training. For the first 200 - 400 hours of learning the use mostly codecademy, but after that you are pair coding solving coding problems and learning essential skills through actual coding and solving on your own. Once you have finished the learning portion, you begin volunteer hours working with non-profit groups in need of coding skills, apps built and other practical real world applications, gaining the skill needed to actually get a job in tech. It is an amazing site that should be promoted…

                        • Meetup Profiles

                          It would be great if coderbits respected my settings on my meetup groups. I have them hidden on meetups and I don't want some of them showing on coderbits because they are unrelated or just no professional such as some photography groups, or other meetups like divorce, datings and such. I am sure others feel the same way.

                          • Additional SlideShare badges for # of views

                            You can get badges for uploading *many* slide decks to SlideShare. It would be nice to have another badge path where it's about the *number of views* your slides get on SlideShare. This could be done for total views over all decks or just use the slide deck with the most views, in order to not mix it too much with the existing badge. For example:

                            1bit: Have a slide deck with at least 100 views
                            8bit: Have a slide deck with at least 1.000 views
                            16bit: Have a slide deck with at least 10.000 views
                            32bit: Have a slide…

                              • Associate programming skills to Coursera Courses

                                I took Machine Learning so that should be counted as Octave / Matlab skills (oh yeah, and machine learning skills). There's not that many programming related courses on coursera. You could maintain a list like

                                {
                                "Computing for Data Analysis: "R",
                                "Machine Learning: "Matlab",
                                "Neural Networks": "Python"
                                }

                                It can be generalized as a list of "accomplishments" that document skills in associated languages

                                        Building a script/tool to extract package data from RPM. Deb, binaries, source files or tar balls by submitting download links or package repositories - a trusted list on known or signed public repositories using.

                                        Having a description and links to a coder's efforts would help a lot when asked. It can also be a basis to build a linked portfolio with screenshots or demos.

                                        • Site: VisualStudio.com

                                          Many developers have projects hosted on visualstudio.com. Would be nice to be able to showcase this code and have it represented in our profiles.
